Types of Lab Grown Diamond
The lab grown diamonds produced by our company mainly include the following types:
IGI Diamonds
IGI lab grown diamonds (also known as man made, cultured and engineered diamonds), are carefully produced in cutting-edge laboratories. The delicate process used encourages the growth of man made diamonds. The environmental conditions are carefully monitored to replicate the surroundings of a mined diamond, and the results are impressive.
Melee Diamond
Melee diamonds are small diamonds that typically weigh less than 0.2 carats and are often used to accentuate larger stones in various types of jewelry, particularly engagement rings and wedding bands. Despite their small size, these diamonds can make a significant impact on the overall appearance of a jewelry piece, adding brilliance and sparkle.
None Certified Diamond
They are simply stones that have not been put through formal lab grading. It is tempting to buy non-certified diamonds as they are often cheaper than certified stones.

Benefits of Lab Grown Diamond
Superior Purity & Quality
With lab grown diamonds, you can ensure that you are buying a near flawless gemstone every time. One of the downsides of a natural diamond is that mined diamonds are found in the earth, growing under an immense amount of pressure and withstanding natural elements.
Ethical Origins
One of the biggest benefits of a man made diamond for some shoppers is the fact that lab created diamonds are in most cases more ethical than a mined diamond. Diamond mining is a trade marked by violence and controversy. It is impossible to find the true sources of most natural diamonds, meaning there is a good chance your natural diamond could be a blood diamond, a diamond mined from the violent diamond trade.
Helping the Environment
Lab grown diamonds are also much better for the environment. Diamond mining is a process that requires a massive amount of fossil fuels and other machinery to extract them. Furthermore, diamond mining requires digging deep holes and clear-cutting forested areas, disrupting ecosystems.
Better for Budget
Man made diamonds are also better for most buyers' budgets. One of the reasons natural diamonds are so expensive is their rarity. They are a finite resource on earth, making them harder to come by, especially if you want a pure and flawless stone.
Get Creative With Color
Lab grown diamonds are also much easier to find in different color options, especially when compared to their natural counterpart. Colored diamonds found in nature can be rare, making them hard to shop for and expensive to purchase.
How Lab Grown Diamonds Are Made
High Pressure-High Temperature (HPHT)
In this method, a small diamond seed is placed within a high-pressure press that replicates the intense conditions found deep within the Earth's mantle. A mixture of carbon and other catalyst materials is added, and the press subjects the seed to high temperatures exceeding 2,000 degrees Celsius and pressures of around 5 GigaPascals. These extreme conditions cause the carbon atoms to crystallise and form a new diamond around the seed.
Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD)
The CVD method involves placing the diamond seed in a vacuum chamber filled with carbon-rich gases. By introducing energy sources such as microwaves or lasers, the gases are ionized, and carbon atoms begin to deposit onto the diamond seed, layer by layer. Over time, these layers accumulate, resulting in the growth of a larger diamond crystal.
Lab Grown Diamonds vs. Natural Diamonds: Main Differences
The Look
There is no difference in look between high quality Lab Diamonds vs Natural Diamonds. Both Natural and Lab Grown Diamonds can be colorless or near colorless. They both can also be a variety of candy colors. Likewise, both Lab Diamonds and Natural Diamonds come in all standard shapes such as round, princess, oval, marquise, pear, cushion, radiant, emerald, and asscher. The sparkle and brilliance of Lab and Natural Diamonds are the same. High Quality stones are identical in look. Lower clarity lab diamonds (those where inclusions are visible to the naked eye) may have different inclusions than their natural counterparts.
Sustainability
Natural Diamond is crystal-clear carbon mined from rock called “kimberlite” deep in the Earth. There is a lot of gossip about the actual rarity of diamonds. This confusion arises from the difference between “gem quality diamonds” and diamonds of lesser quality. True, there are many “industrial-drill-bit-quality” diamonds dug up every day. But we doubt that’s what you want on your finger.

Price
Lab Diamonds cost significantly less than Natural Diamonds. This is because we depend upon Mother Nature to create Natural Diamonds, whereas we make our own Lab Diamonds. High quality Lab Grown Diamonds are fairly new. So, Lab Diamond prices have been changing a bit in the last few years. Currently, in a comparison between Lab Diamonds vs Natural Diamonds of similar size, cut, color, and clarity, a Lab Diamond is approximately 10-30% of the price of a Natural Diamond.
Value
Because high quality Lab Diamonds are newcomers to jewelry, and new Lab Diamond brands are launching regularly, the long-term value of Lab Grown Diamonds is not yet settled. That is to say, in the future, technology could advance and Lab Diamond prices could decrease, lowering the value of previously sold Lab Diamonds. Or, on the other hand, as couples learn more about the benefits of Lab Diamonds, demand could rise, increasing values.
